(a) When software is designed to run on a system that has a keyboard, product functions shall be executable from a keyboard where the function itself or the result of performing a function can be discerned textually.

Supported with minor exceptions:

The overwhelming majority of all Sanction II functions are keyboard accessible.

Sanction II is a presentation tool which allows users to annotate image information. Annotation functions are performed by using a mouse and do not have a specified keyboard equivalent.

(b) Applications shall not disrupt or disable activated features of other products that are identified as accessibility features, where those features are developed and documented according to industry standards. Applications also shall not disrupt or disable activated features of any operating system that are identified as accessibility features where the application programming interface for those accessibility features has been documented by the manufacturer of the operating system and is available to the product developer.

Supported with minor exceptions:

Sanction II does not disrupt or disable any accessibility features of the installed Operating System. (Note: Sanction II only operates upon a Microsoft Windows Platform)

Sanction II allows a minimal amount of customization in terms of the Main/Annotation toolbars for the user to change for most utilized items.

Sanction II does not disrupt or disable any installed accessibility features of the existing operating system.

Usage of a Large Font mode can be disrupted in the conversion from transcript text to tiff images within Sanction II.

The operating system magnifier application is available to magnify specific dialog text within the image if necessary.

(c) A well-defined on-screen indication of the current focus shall be provided that moves among interactive interface elements as the input focus changes. The focus shall be programmatically exposed so that Assistive Technology can track focus and focus changes.

Sanction II's User Interface elements include menu bars, toolbars, check boxes and buttons all which will indicate focus.

Keyboard strokes as well as visual selection are provided to change the focus of the different presentation panels

(d) Sufficient information about a user interface element including the identity, operation and state of the element shall be available to Assistive Technology. When an image represents a program element, the information conveyed by the image must also be available in text.

Sanction II's User Interface elements include menu bars, toolbars, check boxes and buttons all which display tool tips, some are accompanied by textual information specifying the functionality

(e) When bitmap images are used to identify controls, status indicators, or other programmatic elements, the meaning assigned to those images shall be consistent throughout an application's performance.

Sanction II utilizes the same images throughout the entire scope of the software to identify specific functionality

(f) Textual information shall be provided through operating system functions for displaying text. The minimum information that shall be made available is text content, text input caret location, and text attributes.

Where applicable Sanction II uses standard system functions to display textual information. Buttons and other objects contain ToolTips to describe functionality. Textual information for video and audio content can also be displayed in form of close captioning

(g) Applications shall not override user selected contrast and color selections and other individual display attributes.

Supported with Minor Exceptions:

Sanction II does not override user selected contrast and color selections.

If certain Microsoft Windows based desktop schemes are selected, certain functionality within Sanction II can be disabled.

(h) When animation is displayed, the information shall be displayable in at least one non-animated presentation mode at the option of the user.

Sanction II contains the functionality to create stills from any animation and videos being utilized by the user.

(i) Color coding shall not be used as the only means of conveying information, indicating an action, prompting a response, or distinguishing a visual element.

Fully supported:

Sanction II does not use any means of conveying information by use of color coding.

Any annotation tool, which utilizes color, within Sanction II can be enabled or disabled to be presented in color or grayscale. Colors of Controls and components, where applicable, are fully customizable

(j) When a product permits a user to adjust color and contrast settings, a variety of color selections capable of producing a range of contrast levels shall be provided.

Sanction II supports a wide variety of color and contrast settings for controls and components within the program, overall settings are based on the personalized settings of the user's system

(k) Software shall not use flashing or blinking text, objects, or other elements having a flash or blink frequency greater than 2 Hz and lower than 55 Hz.

Fully supported:

Sanction II does not use any type of flashing, blinking, objects, or other elements that flash or blink.

(l) When electronic forms are used, the form shall allow people using Assistive Technology to access the information, field elements, and functionality required for completion and submission of the form, including all directions and cues.

Sanction II does not use any type of electronic form functionality.

(a) At least one mode of operation and information retrieval that does not require user vision shall be provided, or support for Assistive Technology used by people who are blind or visually impaired shall be provided.

Supported with Exceptions:

Audio playback does not require visual acuity.

Sanction II is a visual presentation-based software application, thus Assistive Technologies can be utilized for that aspect of its functionality. Adequate vision is required to view content

(b) At least one mode of operation and information retrieval that does not require visual acuity greater than 20/70 shall be provided in audio and enlarged print output working together or independently, or support for Assistive Technology used by people who are visually impaired shall be provided.

Supported with Exceptions:

Video and Audio playback do not require visual acuity. Full screen playback of video is supported.

Sanction II is a visual presentation-based software application, Assistive Technologies can be utilized for that aspect of its functionality.

(c) At least one mode of operation and information retrieval that does not require user hearing shall be provided, or support for Assistive Technology used by people who are deaf or hard of hearing shall be provided

Fully supported:

Video and audio content in Sanction can be played back with close captioning. Video and Audio content can be played back in slower speeds

(d) Where audio information is important for the use of a product, at least one mode of operation and information retrieval shall be provided in an enhanced auditory fashion, or support for assistive hearing devices shall be provided.

Fully supported:

Auditory acuteness is required to use the synchronization features of Sanction II. Assistive features included is the ability to slow audio playback

(e) At least one mode of operation and information retrieval that does not require user speech shall be provided, or support for Assistive Technology used by people with disabilities shall be provided.

Fully supported:

Sanction II does not require speech recognition.

(f) At least one mode of operation and information retrieval that does not require fine motor control or simultaneous actions and that is operable with limited reach and strength shall be provided.

Supported with Minor Exceptions:

Sanction II uses either the keyboard functionality or an input device (mouse, key pen, trackball) to manipulate throughout the software.

Annotation of Images requires fine motor skills, some keyboard functionality requires combination of keys to be held simultaneously
