Clip duration list

Duration List

In some instances there may be limitations on the amount of time you are allotted to play media clips. If you need to determine playback times or create a report of clip segments, use the Duration List feature. The Duration list gives you an accurate representation as to the playing time of all of clip and multi-clip segments, as well as providing hard copy text report of the selected items.

To launch the Duration List, select Duration List from the Tools menu. The Duration List is made up of two windows – one displays a list of all clips in the current case. The second window is used to create the range report.

To calculate clip durations, drag the clip(s) from the Media Clips window and drop them onto the Selected Clips window. You may also highlight a range, right click and choose Add.

The Duration List cumulative clip length window automatically updates each time you add a segment or group of segments. Multi-clip lengths are automatically calculated from the source segments within them.

Presentations and Duration Lists

In some cases you may wish to determine the lengths of clips which only appear in certain Presentations. To create a duration list from a selected Presentation, click on the Presentation you wish to view from the Presentation Clips drop down. Any clips in the selected Presentation will then be displayed in the clip window.

To print the list, select the $image\ebx_-1942029667.gif$ button.

To clear the list, select the $image\ebx_-974725805.gif$ button.

To change the printed font, select the $image\ebx_-1172899915.gif$ button.

To setup the printer, select the $image\ebx_-1439833106.gif$ button.

You may include several additional fields (and even barcodes) in the Duration list report by selecting the appropriate check boxes.

You may also include the transcript text associated with the clip, by selecting the Include Transcript Text option. Line numbers, or both page and line numbers are added to the transcript text output.

If you wish to print the list to an ASCII text file, select the Save to Text option browse to the file location to create the file in.

If you wish to copy the Duration list information to another application, select the $image\ebx_96848750.gif$ button. This will copy the list information (delimited by the "|" character) to the clipboard where it may be pasted into another application.
