Synchronizing Exhibits with Clips

In addition to the Clip Creator’s media capabilities, you may also automatically display other case exhibits during media clip segment playback. When you play a segment which contains a "synchronized exhibit" in Presentation Mode, when the clip reaches the pre-determined exhibit display time, the Media window will shift to the Left or Top panel (see Presentation Mode settings), and the exhibit will be displayed in the opposite panel. If you have included "clear" points, exhibits can also be removed from the screen in the same manner.

To add a Synchronized Exhibit:

Double click on the segment you wish to add the synchronized exhibit to. (If the Transcript window is currently on screen, click on the image\ebx_-2007401537.gif button to display the Synchronized Exhibits window.)

From the Group drop down box, select the Document or Image group containing the item you wish to add.

Do not confuse this button with the Multi-Segments Add button.) To add a "Clear point" to the clip segment (to clear the current exhibit from the Presentation window), click on the image\ebx_474341113.gif button.

To remove a sync exhibit entirely, right click on the Exhibit in the Sync Exhibit list and choose Remove Sync Item, from the popup menu.

To change the current sync point for an exhibit, right click on the Exhibit in the Sync Exhibit list and choose Re-Sync, from the popup menu. The exhibit time will be updated to reflect the current position of the media player.

Automatically Pausing Media with Sync’d Exhibits

In some instances, you may wish to pause the media playing at the point that a synchronized exhibit is displayed on screen. To set an automatic pause:

Click on the item you wish to pause in the Sync Exhibit item list.

Hit the F2 function key – the last column in the list indicates whether an item is set to auto pause.

To remove an Automatic pause, repeat the above steps but hit the F3 key.

Note – Once you set an automatic pause, it can only be removed from the Clip Creator screen. The pause setting is global, and affects all multi-clips containing the paused segment.

Restore to Full Screen

You also have the option of restoring a clip segment to the full screen panel when a Clear point is hit. This is a global option which can be set from the Presentation Settings Toolbar image\ebx_23523991.gif under the Show Sync’d Exhibit menu. When this option setting is enabled, once a clear point is encountered, the right or bottom panel is cleared, and the current clip segment is shifted to the full screen panel from the top or left position.
