TrialDirector Oll files

Sanction II will import and export Trial Director Object Load List (.oll) files based on the following format:

"Tab", "DOC Name", "DOCID", "Page", "Description", "Volume", "path", "file","segment info"

The Sanction II case database tables correspond to TrialDirector tabs as follows:

Documents - Tab #1

Images - Tab #2

Videos - Tab #4

Important - the actual location of the Oll load file must sometimes be added to the path indicated in the actual file in order for the item paths to be entered properly.

For example, suppose the items are located on a CD in several subdirectories located under the "IMAGES" subdirectory. The OLL file is also located in the IMAGES directory.

The path entry in the OLL file may or may not contain the "IMAGES" subdirectory. For this reason, you must tell Sanction II whether or not to use the OLL file path as the root directory.

In this example, the indicated path is VOL1\DIR1 -

"1", "DOC1","DOC1","1","","CD1","VOL1\DIR1", "001.tif","""

If this path is directly off of the root (C:\, D:\, etc.), then Sanction II will import this OLL entry and locate the files correctly.

However, if you have copied the files to a new location or the OLL file is not directly off the root (IMAGES\VOL1\DIR1), you must move the OLL file to the root directory (IMAGES) and choose YES when prompted "Append the current file location…?" This will add the root path to the current path line.

If you choose NO to this prompt, Sanction II will import the items based strictly on the path indicated in the import file.

Additional example:

OLL file location - D:\IMAGES

Oll path line - DOCS\000

Image Locations - D:\IMAGES\DOCS

Choosing YES to Use as Root Path - Import path = IMAGES\DOCS\000

Choosing NO to Use as Root Path - Import path = DOCS\000

Note that choosing NO in this example will cause an incorrect path since Sanction II has no way of knowing about the IMAGES subdirectory.

Before importing an OLL file, you may wish to edit the path using a text editor such as Wordpad and then using the "Search and Replace" function to insure that the items are located correctly.

If Sanction II is unable to locate files after an import, verify the path to the files and then use the Case Editor utility to update the database.
