Sanction II now includes full integration with Summation iBlaze using ActiveX components and Visual Basic scripting!
This integration includes viewing, annotating and layering images, importing and exporting case information, transcript clip creation and more. In addition, a powerful script manager utility, iBlaze Script Manager allows the user complete customization for all scripts in their iBlaze cases.
Overview
All of the integration capabilities between Sanction II and iBlaze are based on associations. Because iBlaze and Sanction II keep separate databases on the items and transcripts contained within them, associations tell both products which case or transcript should be referenced by the other product.
Associations are created automatically whenever you export or import items between the two products. However in some instances, if Sanction II is unsure of an association, a dialog will pop up asking the user to select the correct association. Once a selection is made, you will not be prompted again.
Normally will you be prompted once for a case association (telling Sanction II which case corresponds with the iBlaze case, or to create a new Sanction II case for the current iBlaze case) and you will be prompted each time you reference a transcript which has not been added.
When associations are made, you will not be prompted again unless a change has occurred in either the case or transcript name. After associations are completed, all of the integration features between Sanction II and iBlaze are enabled.
Note if you experience problems with associations, they can be reset or removed by using the VSSIISetup script. This script can be accessed from the iBlaze Script Manager utility, or from the Verdict Integrator menu off of the Sanction II Tools menu.
Installing the Sanction II Add-On
When you install Sanction II, if Summation iBlazeΤ is detected on your system, then the necessary Sanction II add-in is created automatically. If you add iBlaze at a later time, you may use the iBlaze Script Manager utility to quickly add the necessary files and register the Sanction II add-in.
While use of the add-in capabilities is not a requirement for using the Sanction II integration, it does simplify the installation requirements between the two products.
Instructions for setting up the Sanction II/iBlaze connection are documented below. Please note, the iBlaze Script Wizard help file contains further information for customizing scripts and right click menus in iBlaze.
Setting Up iBlaze for Sanction II Integration
Setting up the connection between Sanction II and iBlaze is a two-step process registering the Sanction II add-in with iBlaze, and then adding the necessary scripts. Follow the steps below to complete the integration process.
1. Launch iBlaze, and load a case.
2. From the Script menu, select Manage Script Add-Ons.
3. From the Registered Add Ons window, select Verdict Systems Sanction II. (if this Add-In does not appear in the list, see the note below Installing the Add-In Manually, before continuing).
4. Click on the >> button to add the selection to the Case Add Ons window.
5. Click on OK.

At this point, two scripts will appear in the iBlaze Explorer tree, SII Script Manager and SII Case Importer. These scripts will appear in the tree anytime you load the selected case.

Next, you need to set up the iBlaze/Sanction II right click functionality.
1. Double click on the SII Script Manager script icon. This will launch the iBlaze Script Manager Utility.
2. From the Script Manager File menu, select Set Up Defaults.
3. In the Add Defaults window, click on OK.
4. Exit the Script Manager utility.
Thats all it takes! All of the Sanction II right click script options have added to the current case and the context menus have been updated accordingly.
Note Add-In integration is done at the Case level in iBlaze. You must repeat the above procedures for each case you wish to use the Add-In capabilities in. However, you may also customize many Sanction II scripts at a global or Profile level. See the iBlaze Script Manager help file for information on using the Script manager to custom and make global changes to your iBlaze cases.
Installing the Add-In Manually
If the Verdict Systems Sanction II Add In does not appear in the iBlaze Script Add Ons window, you must install the Add In before continuing.
To install the Add In Manually:
1. Using the Windows Explorer, browse to the Sanction II installation directory.
2. Double click on the iBlazeScriptmanager.exe file.
3. From the File menu, select Register Add-In.
4. Click on OK.
5. Exit the Script Manager.
6. Continue with the Integration Setup above.
Using the Case Importer
The Sanction II Case Importer Script/Utility allows you to import or export information from iBlaze to Sanction II, or from Sanction II to iBlaze. The importer has 4 basic functions:
· Adding Image information from iBlaze to a Sanction II case
· Importing image information from a Sanction II case into the current iBlaze case
· Adding transcripts from the current iBlaze case to Sanction II
· Importing transcripts from Sanction II into the current iBlaze case
To use the importer, simply select the appropriate option button, follow the instructions and choose begin. The status panel in the lower left will indicate when the operation is complete.
IMPORTANT if you select a Sanction II case database from the drop down list OTHER than database associated with the current iBlaze case, any items you import into iBlaze must be exported back out to the correct associated case. The ability to pull information in from outside cases allows you greater flexibility, but understand that the links between any iBlaze case and Sanction II are based on the case associations. Importing information from an outside case DOES not automatically add it to the Sanction II case associated to the active iBlaze case.

Important - Importing Image Data from Sanction II - when you select this option, you must click on the iBlaze window after choosing Begin. This is because a message box is generated by iBlaze AFTER the import. This message box will be hidden behind the Case Importer window and will cause a Script time out if you do not click on the message box after it appears.
