Load Last Case Use this option to automatically load the last case upon program launch. When this option is disabled, no case is loaded at start up.
Use Selective Load If you are working with a large case database, Sanction II can be set up to load only specific items (created from Special Tools function). To load the entire case, de-select this option. Selective loading is discussed in Chapter 12 - Miscellaneous Functions.
Enable DDE If you wish to use Sanction IIs Dynamic Data Exchange functions, you must enable DDE by setting this option. When DDE is on, any program can send supported DDE commands to the Sanction II case. The Help topic Using DDE with Sanction II contains information on Sanction IIs supported DDE commands.
Enable Clipboard Polling Sanction II can use clipboard for support with older applications. When clipboard polling is enabled, Sanction II copies the text data from the clipboard and checks it against the supported DDE commands. If a command is valid it is run in the same manner as a DDE connection.
Check Volume Labels If you use multiple CDs instead of large hard drives to store data, it is possible for duplicate file names to exist on different CDs. By checking volume labels, Sanction II will load an item only if the file path AND volume label match. If you are using a single hard drive or network to store your data, this option setting is not needed.
Show Tip of the Day Sanction II includes a text file containing over 50 tips on how to get the most from the program. To display the Tip of the Day each time you launch the program, select this option.
Order Groups on Load Normally Sanction II loads the items in the main category treeview in alphabetical order. If you wish to display groups in the order they were added, select this option. Note if you delete a group and then re-add it, it will appear in the new location, not the original.
Auto Load Page #1 Select this option if you would like the first page of any Document or Image Group to be displayed in the viewing window whenever a tree branch Group node is clicked.
Auto Save Rotations If the images in your case have not been rotated to the proper orientation, Sanction II can automatically save the file after the rotation is performed (files must not be Read Only). Disable this option if you wish to manually save rotated images.
Disable Combo Fills On very large cases, Sanction II must fill the various screen drop down boxes with the all the group names and items in the selected group. Depending on the total number of documents, you may wish to disable the combo box fills and instead type IDs in directly when needed.
Fill List with Pages Only Whenever you click on a node in the tree view, the list view is filled with all items currently under the selected tree node. If there are thousands and thousands of document groups, you wish to fill the list view only when a group is selected, and not when the Document or Images category is clicked.
Auto Launch Other Files If you have added other file types to the Other Exhibits category, you have the option of displaying them directly from the Viewing Window (using the browser) or you may launch the source application outside of Sanction II. Keep in mind that if this option is enabled, and you have also set the Use Source Application setting, every time you click on an associated item, its application will launch. If this option is disabled, you must double click on the item to launch it.
Use Source Application To view a supported file type using its native application, set this option. Clicking on the item will then cause the application to load into the program it was created from, instead of the Sanction II browser. See the note above on Auto Launching Other files. Also, setting this option has no effect on the Presentation Mode setting. To use the source application for items displayed in Presentation Mode, you must set this option from the Presentation Settings popup menu.
Admit Entire Document When using the Admit feature to tag an items admitted date, you have the option of tagging only the selected item, or the entire document containing the item. By default, Sanction II admits the entire document. Disable this option if you wish to admit items by page only.
