The following settings can be used to customize the Presentation Mode features and options.
Note - there are several Presentation Mode settings that can only be set from the Presentation Mode Settings toolbar. These additional settings are detailed at the end of this section.

Always Hide Windows Taskbar - If the Windows Taskbar is interfering with the Presentation Mode Control Panel, this option forces the Taskbar to remain hidden. The Taskbar will return to its original state when you exit Presentation Mode. Alternately, you may wish to change the position of the Windows Taskbar by repositioning it to the left or right of the screen.
Hide Video on Complete - When playing video in Presentation Mode, you may or may not wish to have the last frame of the segment visible when the video completes. To return to the black background screen, enable this option. To leave the last frame of the video on the screen, disable this option.
Auto-Close Tool Windows - If you use the floating toolbars in Presentation Mode, you may want the toolbar to close automatically when you change the type of item displayed.
For example, if you are currently displaying an image and then load a video clip, you would want the Annotation Tool Window to close (since these tools cannot be applied to a video). Conversely, displaying the Video Controls while a video segment is running and then displaying an image, you would want the Video Control window to close automatically.
Keep in mind that the Auto-close function does have drawbacks. If you are constantly loading items of different file types, you will have to re-select the tool window each time.
Single Click Exit Normally, when you click on the Exit button or hit the SHIFT ESC hot key combination, you will exit out of Presentation Mode. On some systems however if video is on screen when you exit Presentation Mode, it may leave behind a screen "artifact" of the video. For this reason, you must click the Exit button twice if a video is on screen. You can select the Single Click Exit option to enable a single click exit, but you should verify that video screens are unloaded properly when you exit Presentation Mode. If an artifact remains, de-select this option setting.
Presentation Search Options If you use blind searches to locate items in Presentation Mode, you can choose whether or not the items should be added to the Presentation List for retrieval later. The following settings can be used:

Echo Search Text When doing a blind type search, you may wish to have a visual indication of your text on the screen as you type. When Echo Search Text is enabled, the typed text appears in the upper left corner of the currently active Presentation Panel. If Echo Search Text is disabled, you may still type in Blind Search Text, however the typing will not be visible on screen.
Do Not Add Items Items are not added to the current Presentation List or Folder. If you wish to load the item again, you must do another blind search.
Add After Current Add the item to the Presentation List after the previously selected item.
Add To End Add the item to the end of the Presentation List.
The following option settings determine how magnified windows are placed on the screen after the initial magnify.

Top of Active Panel Magnified windows are always displayed at the top left corner of the active panel.
Center of Active Panel Magnified windows are always displayed at the center of the active panel.
Top of Screen Magnified windows are always displayed at the top left corner of the Presentation Mode screen.
Center of Screen Magnified windows are always displayed at the center of the Presentation Mode screen.
Use Dual Monitors If your operating system supports dual monitors, you can place Sanction IIs Main Screen on one monitor, and Presentation Mode screen on the other. You must enable this option in order for the Presentation Mode screen to be displayed correctly.
Allow Main Screen Remote Control when dual monitors are enabled and this option is selected, the Presentation Panels appear on the main screen toolbar and any action taken on the item loaded is applied to the item in the current Presentation item(s).

Show Line Numbers When this option is enabled, the line number for the current line of synchronized text is displayed with the line of text. If this option is disabled, only the text is displayed.
Left Justify Text This option left justifies the synchronized transcript text. Unless you are displaying only a single line of text, this option should not be changed.
Shift Media to Top/ Shift Media to Left While playing a media clip segment in full screen mode which includes a synchronized exhibit, the panel view must change to accommodate playing both the clip and displaying the exhibit. These options determine whether the Media Player is shifted to the top panel (with the exhibit displayed in the bottom panel), or the Media Player is shifted to the left panel (with the exhibit displayed in the right panel).

Shift To Top Panel/Shift to Left Panel/Use Active Panel Like Synchronized Exhibits, if a Bullet List or Timeline contains a linked exhibit, and the current panel view is Full Screen, these options determine whether or not to replace the current Bullet List or Timeline with the linked item, or to shift the active item to the top or left screen and display the linked item in the bottom or right panel.

When you use the magnify tool in Presentation mode, the size of the actual window created by the magnify can be limited to a certain percentage of the active panel. The Full Screen, Left/Right panels and Top/Bottom panels can each have their own magnification percentage.
The following settings can only be accessed from the Presentation Mode settings Toolbar
button. These options are applied by clicking on the Presentation Settings icon and selecting the option from the pop up menu choices. Some of the menu choices can be set from the main program Settings dialog as described earlier.
- whenever you change the panel view in Presentation Mode, the next item you load is placed in the active panel. In some instances, such as hyperlinked documents and Synchronized Exhibits, the active full screen may be switched to left and right or top and bottom panels. The next item loaded will therefore appear in whichever panel is active. If you wish to force items to always appear in the full screen panel, select this option. Once the option is set, anytime you hit the Escape key to clear the on screen items, the current panel will be reset to Full Panel mode regardless of the current view.
- If your media files have associated transcripts with valid timestamp information, you may display the spoken text in a small window on screen as the media file plays. When this option is enabled, the text window appears beneath the Media Player. If the option is disabled, no text window will be displayed.
This option determines which field is searched when displaying items through blind typing. If the Presentation Mode status indicator indicates that an item cannot be found, be sure this option is set to the correct field.
- If you have created a clip segment with synchronized exhibits, this option automatically restores the clip to full screen if a "Clear" point has been set in the clip playback. If this setting is not enabled, the clip will remain in the left or top panel when the exhibit is cleared from the screen. This option is located under the Show Syncd Exhibit menu.
This option determines whether or not the Presentation Mode Control Panel is always visible or is hidden when the mouse moves from the Control Panel area. To hide the panel whenever it does not have user focus, enable the Mouse Activate option. To make the Control Panel always visible, disable this option.
When working with multiple panel views in Presentation Mode, you may wish to have a visible indication of which pane is currently active. The active pane receives whatever item is subsequently selected for display. To place a border around the active pane, enable this option. To remove the border, disable this option.
The active panel is always indicated on the Presentation Mode Control Panel as the green selection.
By default, when you right click and save an image in Presentation mode, a new image file is created as an addendum to the current page. This is to prevent you from accidentally overwriting an image that does not store annotation data as part of the file. If you wish your annotations to be saved to the current image instead of creating a new image file, select this option.
Note if the image has the read only file attribute set (such as an image on a CDROM) the file is always saved as new.
Warning - do not select this option if you are annotating a file type other than Group IV TIF images! If you save an annotation to a bitmap, the annotation will be burned into the image and cannot be removed. Its a good idea to always set the Read Only file attribute on images that you wish to protect from accidental overwrites. This way you will never accidentally burn annotations into an existing file.

When creating Screen Captures, the capture is saved to the Captures group under the Other Exhibits category by default. If you wish the capture to be placed in the same Group as the item on screen, select the To Images option. To save captures to the Other Exhibits Captures group, select To Studio.
Note if you have selected Capture to Image Group and make a capture of a displayed Text Clip, the capture cannot be saved to the Text Clip group (because it is not a true Text Clip). The capture will be placed in the Captures group instead.

This feature displays the field data from the selected field in the lower right portion of the active panel. You may display an items ID, Exhibit #, Trial Exhibit # , Description or Admitted Date with this setting. If you do not wish to display any field information select Dont Display.

This feature is used in conjunction with the Display Active By setting. In some cases, you wish to only display additional info for certain types of items instead of all items. When you select a Display Active For category, then information is displayed only for the item category(s) selected. By default, all categories are selected.
This is a specialized option that prevents the image window from resizing an image to fill the screen. Normally, when you load a document or image file it is resized to fill the screen. Some items, such as medical photos or other detailed photographs may appear blurry when resized. Setting this option forces the View window to display the item in its original size.
Important this is a global setting. Any document or image loaded after you change this setting will also be affected. Be sure to de-select the option to restore the normal image sizing option.
When this option is set, if you switch panel views (from Full screen to Left/Right or Top/Bottom) then current zoom is maintained in the new window. If you wish the image to resize on a panel change, de-select this option.
Append Text File Location This setting determines the location where the ASCII text file generated is saved when you right click on a selected range of transcript text from the Transcript Search tab and select the Append To Text File feature. This option has no relation and should not be confused with the Exhibit Studio Text Clip (tif creation) feature. To change the location of the ASCII text clip file, click on the Change button and select a new filename.

Use Bracketing [ ] This option encloses the page and line range in brackets when the text is appended to the ASCII text clip file.
Include Line #s This option determines whether or not the line numbers of the selected range of text are also included in the text file.

Screen Capture ID Naming These options determine whether screen captures in Presentation Mode are automatically created, or the user is prompted to assign a name to the capture. Selecting Auto-name (ID + #) uses the ID of the current presentation item. Selecting Prompt for ID will open an ID naming dialog box.
